Behind the bar
Every spirit, beer and soft drink is Scottish
That includes MOND vodka, Hirundine 12 Year Old single malt and Lunun Gin, made in Dean's hometown of Arbroath. The cocktail list is built from them.
A wine bar built around seafood
Dulse West End is Dulse Seafood & Wine. The wine half of the name matters as much as the first. The list is chosen for what comes out of the kitchen: oysters, Shetland mussels, Orkney scallops, Skye langoustines and St Abbs lobster. Crisp, coastal whites, good fizz and lighter reds that sit happily next to fish.
Walk in and pull up a stool under the vines for a glass and half a dozen oysters, or settle in for dinner and let the team pick a bottle for what you order. Nobody needs to know their Albariño from their Txakoli. That's our job.
Wines that travel well with fish
Our tasting menu pairing gives a feel for the list. It runs from JCB Crémant de Bourgogne Blanc de Blancs and a Basque Txakoli from Bodega Agerre to Naughton Cider Co.'s vintage brut from the East Neuk, a Galician Albariño from Rías Baixas and Brachetto d'Acqui from Piemonte with dessert. Devaux Champagne comes out with the St Abbs lobster.
An AA Notable Wine List
In October 2025 Dulse West End was given the AA Notable Wine List Award for 2025 to 2026. More than a thousand places entered and only 288 across the UK were recognised. The Michelin Guide calls it an interesting international list.
A Scottish back bar
Behind the bar, every spirit, beer and soft drink is Scottish. That includes MOND vodka, Hirundine 12 Year Old single malt and Lunun Gin, which is made in Dean's hometown of Arbroath. The cocktail list is built from them.
Oysters and a glass, 5pm to 6pm
Every day from 5pm to 6pm, oysters are £2 each. A glass of fizz and half a dozen is the West End's best early evening. See oyster happy hour.
Wine with the tasting menu
The five-course tasting menu is £79 per person with an optional wine pairing at £62.50. From Sunday to Thursday, the midweek tasting comes with a carafe of wine for every two guests for £55 a head.
